Repeat Prescriptions

The quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription is online via your NHS Account.  To set up an account and to login please go to NHS Login

Alternatively you can use the slip attached to your prescription to request a repeat issue of the medication. Simply mark the items clearly that you require and deliver or send the slip to the practice.  If you have mislaid your request slip, a prescription request slip is available at reception.

For safety reasons, we do not accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone

  • Please allow at least 72 hours/3 days for your prescription to be processed – these are working days and do not include Saturday or Sunday – if you hand in a repeat request after midday on a Friday it will not be ready for collection until Wednesday of the following week.
  • If you have more than one repeat medication, please try to order them all at the same time – ask your Doctor to assist you to do this
  • Clearly indicate where you wish to collect your prescription from. We will send it to the local pharmacy of your choice.
  • If you wish for a medication to be added to your repeat then please mark the details clearly on your request slip
  • If you no longer require a repeat medications please indicate clearly ‘Delete’ and it will be removed from your repeat list.

Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS)

EPS enables prescribers-such as GP’s and Practice Nurses – to send prescriptions electronically to a pharmacy of the patient choice. This makes the prescribing and dispensing process more efficient, quicker and convenient for patients and staff. It also avoids the need to call into the surgery to collect your prescription and enables you to go direct to the Pharmacy to collect your medication. In order to take full benefit of this service, you will need to advise us of your nominated pharmacy and also provide your consent with your next repeat prescription request.

Our Dispensary

The practice operates a Dispensary situated at our Alfriston Surgery. Due to dispensing regulations we are only able to dispense medication to our registered Alfriston patients only.

If you are a registered patient at Alfriston our dispensers are very happy to assist you with your repeat prescriptions and with the provision of your medications.

We politely ask that our Alfriston patients support and use the Dispensary for their medication requirements in order that we can maintain this service for you. We are the only practice in our Clinical Commissioning Group with a Dispensary and very much want to continue providing this personal service for our rural communities.
